This will be the 55th meeting between LSU and Florida. LSU won last season 28-24, but Florida leads the series 28-23-3.
This game not only features two of the best programs in the country, but also two of the best special team players. You may not want to take an early restroom break when either team lines up to punt. LSU’s speedy Trindon Holliday is second in the nation in punt returns. He is averaging over 25 yards a return. Florida has a game breaker in the shifty Brandon James. He is ranked 7th in the nation in punt returns and 11th in kickoff returns.
LSU’s defensive tackle Ricky Jean-Francois said that the Tigers are “…going to try our best to take him [Tebow] out of the game.” With defenses on the field that are primed and ready to knockout opposing offensive players a punt or kickoff return could be the game changer. We’ll have to wait and see if Tim Tebow finishes the game, either way Brandon James should return Florida back to a victory against LSU.
Florida 17, LSU 13
