This will be the 80th meeting between Notre Dame (2-1) and Purdue (2-1). The schools have played each other every season since 1946 and Notre Dame leads the series 51-26-2. Purdue won last year 33-19 in West Lafayette.
If Kory Sheets rushes for a touchdown, he will tie Mike Alstott with 39 career-rushing touchdowns at Purdue. Sheets has rushed for two touchdowns in every game this season for a total of five straight games going back to last season.
This will be Joe Tiller’s final game against Notre Dame as Purdue’s head coach. He defeated Notre Dame the first game he faced them in 1997. Tiller will finish 6-6 against the Irish by defeating them one final time.
