No. 8 West Virginia at East Carolina (plus 7.5)

East Carolina (1-0) lost to West Virginia 48-7 last year. The Mountaineers (1-0) have won seven-straight in the series and hold a 17-2 advantage.

East Carolina’s defense was able to hold Virginia Tech to 243 total yards of offense last week. ECU quarterback Patrick Pinkney completed 19 of 23 passes for 211 yards in large part because his offensive line kept the Hokies from sacking him.

It is unlikely that East Carolina will be able to keep West Virginia’s offense under 243 yards. Last week the Mountaineers’ multi-talented quarterback, Patrick White, gained 271 total yards. West Virginia’s defense has already recorded six sacks and will have Pinkney in its sights.

Lightning doesn’t strike twice for East Carolina.
