This will be the sixth meeting for Georgia and Alabama with both teams being nationally ranked. Georgia has never lost when both teams are ranked. Alabama leads the series 35-25-4.

Both teams feature stout defenses. Alabama’s defense is holding opponents to 55 rushing yards and fewer than ten points per game. The most points the Crimson Tide has allowed this season are the 14 points Arkansas scored last week.

Georgia’s defense is equally impressive. With the help of linebacker Rennie Curran-three sacks, 29 tackles and five tackles for loss-the Bulldogs keep the opposition to less than 46 yards rushing and below 14 points a game.

Georgia has two playmakers in freshman receiver A.J. Green and running back Knowshon Moreno. Last week Green had eight catches for 159 yards and a touchdown. Moreno rushed for 149 yards and two touchdowns against Arizona State.

I liked Nick Saban and Alabama’s chances at pulling off the upset until Georgia announced that they are going to wear black jerseys. The Bulldogs are undefeated the two previous times they donned the black uniforms.
