Texas will play Texas A&M for the 106th time today and leads the series 68-34-3. Last year the Aggies defeated the Longhorns 12-7 ending Texas' six game winning streak against them.
I didn't fork over $1,500 to Dennis Franchione for inside information, but I'm certain A&M will try to defeat Texas by running the ball. Behind the legs of quarterback Stephen McGee and Jorvorskie Lane, the Aggies are ranked 14th in the nation in rushing offense. McGee leads the team with 828 rushing yards and Lane has carried the ball into the endzone 16 times.
Texas has a decent runner in Jamaal Charles. Charles leads the Big 12 with 1,366 rushing yards and has 15 TDs. Colt McCoy's arm (2,900 passing yards) gives the Longhorns a balanced offense. Provided McCoy throws to his receivers, Texas should win this grind-it-out ball game. If the Longhorns win, and Oklahoma loses, Texas will play for the Big 12 title.
