Kent State at No. 3 Ohio State Week 7

The last, and only, time Ohio State played Kent State was a 51-17 drubbing in 2002. Saturday the Buckeyes are a 30.5-point favorite.

The Golden Flashes will rely on the legs and hands of Eugene Jarvis. Averaging 141 yards per game he is ranked fifth in the nation. With 201 yards receiving, Jarvis is only four yards shy of the team leader.

Perhaps Kent State’s quarterback, Julian Elderman, should use his legs more than his arm. He is ranked 93rd in pass efficiency and has thrown more interceptions (8) than touchdowns (6).

Todd Boeckman doubled his interception total by throwing three interceptions last week at Purdue. Kent State's pass defense may not be the remedy Boeckman is looking for. The Golden Flashes are ranked 22nd against the pass and could provide a decent test.

Beanie Wells' four-game streak of 100 yard rushing games ended last week. Will the coaches keep him in long enough to break 100 yards this week? Probably not. Look for Brandon Saine and Maurice Wells to get more carries to protect Beanie's ankle.

The View's Take
Thank you Time Warner, and The Big Ten Network, for not allowing most of Central Ohio the opportunity to watch another in-state team get slaughtered by Ohio State.
