No. 8 Ohio State at Minnesota Week 5

Since 1969 No. 8 Ohio State is 32-2 against Minnesota. The Buckeyes have outscored the Gophers 1,160-447 in those 34 games. Ohio State leads the series 39-7 and is 19-4 at Minnesota.

Todd Boeckman is ranked tenth in the nation among quarterbacks in pass efficiency. His rating of 172.6 should improve against Minnesota's defenseless pass defense. The Gophers' defense is as putrid as Notre Dame's offense. Minnesota ranks last in pass defense, total defense and turnover margin.

Minnesota's offense can't be blamed for this season's 1-3 start. Led by dual threat quarterback Adam Webster the Gophers have scored at least 31 points each game. Webster has already thrown for 1,031 yards and 11 touchdowns. He has rushed for 257 yards and two touchdowns.

The Buckeyes' defense will also have to contain running back Amir Pinnix (5.7 yards per carry) and receivers Eric Decker and Ernie Wheelwright. Decker and Wheelwright have combined for 626 yards and nine touchdowns.

The View's Take
Jim Tressel is 4-0 against the Gophers winning by an average score of 39-16. This should be another easy win for Tressel, provided nobody else takes a stroll down High Street. Does Ohio State, a 24-point favorite, travel to Minneapolis with a welcome mat that says “Dome Sweet Dome”?
