The History
These two storied programs have only played each other three times. Last season and a home and home series in 1969 and 1970. USC won last year (28-10) and at Nebraska in 1969 (31-21). The schools tied 21-21 in 1970. USC will stay undefeated against the Cornhuskers.
The View
USC defeated Nebraska 28-10 last season in the L.A. Coliseum and leads the series 2-0-1. The stars will be out Saturday night as both teams have talented players on both sides of the ball.
Nebraska's Marlon Lucky is ranked 5th in the nation averaging 161.5 rushing yards a game. Quarterback Sam Keller, wide receiver Terrence Nunn and safety Larry Asante are the Cornhuskers to watch.
John David Booty needs a better performance than he had against Idaho. Receivers Stanley Havili and David Ausberry along with tight end Fred Davis will help Booty start his Heisman campaign. C.J. Gable and Stafon Johnson are the lead studs in a backfield of thoroughbreds. Linebacker Keith Rivers anchors a talented and deep defensive unit.
